I just picked up this game at a yard sale today, for my 3-1/2 yo niece. It's complete except for the rules. I realize the rules are very simple, but it would be great to have a copy of them to give her along with the game. I'm hoping someone can post a pdf of the rules.
There's no point in going into great detail on the game (you can find that in other articles) but here's a rundown on the differences:1) The crown is lighter and restyled to make it look like Aurora's. A mostly aesthetic change, but one side effect is that it doesn't fit on grown-up heads nearly as well. This may be good or bad, depending on your point of view.
2) The Black Ring is replaced by a stand-up Maleficent. This actually improves the story aspect for me, as I couldn't figure out why a bit of jewelry would be powerful enough to block you from the throne yet remain easy to get rid of. Having the evil faerie queen in your face, on the other hand, is an obvious ascension impediment. We've seen how mercurial she is, which explains why a lucky spin will refocus her spite elsewhere.
3) The jewelry box mirror is gone, replaced by a big logo sticker. This doesn't seem like a big deal, but when your daughter can't easily admire her prettiness it's a real letdown.
In sum, the bad outweighs the good here. I recommend you search out the classic edition instead.
