To deal with the low battery problem, turn the AC power on. Wait 24 to 48 hours to let the battery charge. If the LOW BATT display is still there after 2 days, you may want to have it replaced.

- Purchase a new battery for GE Security Concord 4.
- Set the system on test mode.
- Find the control panel box in a closet, attic or garage and open it to access the backup battery.
- Remove the old battery by disconnecting the wires from the terminals. Start by disconnecting the black wire from the negative terminal then the red wire from the positive terminal. Wiggle the wires that are tight so loosen them. Do not yank on them. Use pliers with insulated handles for safety purposes. BE CAREFUL not to short the battery during removal.
- Take off the plastic protector of the terminals in the new battery. Connect the red wire to the positive terminal (color red) before the black wire to the negative terminal (color black).
- Close the control panel box.
- Allow the battery to recharge for 1-2 days. In case the LOW BATT warning is still there after 48 hours, call the alarm provider. There might be a problem with the system.
- Dispose the old battery properly by recycling it.
